Originally launching as a domestic gardening service, Managing Director Peter Lloyd launched his gardening and design agency in 2017. Since then, Peter has grown the business substantially, winning a gold medal at the 2019 Southport Flower Show and moving into commercial markets, offering services in commercial landscaping, historic environment conservation and landscaping design & build.
Gardens by Peter Lloyd appointed me to conduct a full rebrand to reflect the company’s new offering and industry status.
The first step of this project was to conduct in depth market research and really get to know the landscape design market. The creative thinking behind the research was to learn from high-end & successful landscape architects.
Taking an aspirational approach is always key, it helps businesses not only compete within their market, but sit above their competitors.
The logo design that was proposed took away the “Gardens by” prefix and stated “Peter Lloyd” in professional block capitals. This was combined with a logo emblem that was designed to visually represent the company’s offering.
The colours for the brand were chosen very carefully, using a royal green to stay in line with the greenery of gardening, and adding a metallic soft gold to celebrate the success of the business to date.
Following the completion of the brand design, I worked with Peter to create bespoke business cards, letterheads, ID Cards and clothing as well as two fully branded wrapped vans.
Additionally to the printed outputs, I created a full set of icons which will be used to breakdown the business’ services as well as an emblem which will be used to explain the awards the business has won.
